Breakdown Yawning Ambassador Training Costs
This is the training cost, not the session payout.
| Training Option | Cost | What It Covers | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Ambassador place | £222 | 2-day Yawning Ambassador training, online or face to face | One staff member, volunteer, parent champion or wellbeing lead |
| 12-place block booking | £2,400 | 2-day training for a group of 12 | Schools, trusts, charities, PTA groups, wider internal teams |
What this gives the organisation
| Benefit | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Internal champions | We are not relying only on outside delivery |
| Confidence to lead | Staff, volunteers or parent champions can carry the work |
| Regular activity | Easier to run Yawnathons more often |
| Family and community extension | More people can help include parents and wider community |
| Longer-term sustainability | The work can stay alive within the organisation |
Standard Payback Scheme
For extra registered fundraising or Book-an-Ambassador sessions
This is the payback structure we discussed for extra sessions, not the included membership sessions.
Standard extra-session split
| Share | Percentage | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| The Great Big Yawn | 55% | Supports the app, systems, websites, infrastructure and growth |
| Yawning Ambassador | 25% | Payment for delivery of the extra session |
| Host Organisation | 15% | Benefit returned to the school, charity or organisation or donate back. |
| Admin / platform support | 5% | Helps cover admin and running costs |
Example payback figures for extra sessions
| Net Income from Extra Session | TGBY 55% | Ambassador 25% | Organisation 15% | Admin 5% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| £100 | £55 | £25 | £15 | £5 |
| £200 | £110 | £50 | £30 | £10 |
| £300 | £165 | £75 | £45 | £15 |
| £500 | £275 | £125 | £75 | £25 |
| £1,000 | £550 | £250 | £150 | £50 |
This is the structure we use for:
- extra family Yawnathons
- parent / PTA fundraising sessions
- extra online sessions
- Book-an-Ambassador events
- community fundraising Yawnathons
Included Membership Session Ambassador Breakdown
For the included sessions inside Starter, Partner and Premium, we moved away from a big public percentage promise and treated it as a shared delivery pot.
We agreed on using 25% of the package value as the Ambassador delivery allocation for included sessions.
Included-session delivery pot
| Package | Monthly Fee | Included Sessions | 25% Ambassador Delivery Pot | Approx. Pot Per Session |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | £25 | 2 | £6.25 | £3.13 |
| Partner | £65 | 6 | £16.25 | £2.71 |
| Premium | £125 | 12 | £31.25 | £2.60 |
Important note
This 25% delivery pot is:
- for included package sessions
- shared across whoever delivers
- not a main earning route for Ambassadors
The real earning route is through the extra registered sessions above.
If more than one Ambassador delivers
| Example | Total Ambassador Pot | How it’s split |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Ambassador delivers all 6 Partner sessions | £16.25 | One Ambassador receives full allocation |
| 2 Ambassadors deliver 3 sessions each | £16.25 | £8.13 each |
| Lead + support model | £16.25 | Split by agreed contribution |
4. Ambassador Give-Back Option
For eligible sessions, Ambassadors can choose:
| Ambassador Choice | What Happens |
|---|---|
| Keep all | Ambassador receives 100% of their allocated fee |
| Donate all | 100% goes to the registered Partner organisation |
| Split 50/50 | 50% to Ambassador, 50% to the registered Partner organisation |
Important condition
Any donation can only go to a registered Partner organisation already on your system if not selected it will automatically go back to The Great Big Yawn..
5. Quarterly Payment Rule
All eligible Ambassador and organisation payments are currently:
| Policy Area | Current Position |
|---|---|
| Payment frequency | Quarterly only |
| Monthly payments | Not available right now |
| Why | To keep the system manageable as a small organisation |
| Future | May change as TGBY grows |
Enterprise Model — How the Payback Changes
This is the bit that makes Enterprise different.
In the standard model, extra-session income is split through the payback scheme.
In the Enterprise community model, the organisation may choose to train more Ambassadors so they can volunteer to support schools, PTAs, family events and community Yawnathons.
That changes the money flow.
Enterprise volunteer-community model
| Session Type | Ambassador Role | Who Keeps Most of the Benefit? | TGBY Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard extra session | Paid Ambassador | Shared between TGBY, Ambassador, organisation and admin | Standard payback split applies |
| Enterprise volunteer-led session | Volunteer Ambassador | Mainly the school / charity / organisation | Optional donation back to TGBY |
| Enterprise PTA / family fundraiser | Volunteer or community-led Ambassador | Mainly the school / organisation | Optional donation back to TGBY |
| Enterprise showcase / competition event | Volunteer-supported delivery | Mainly local host setting | Optional donation back to TGBY |
Enterprise Benefits Side by Side
| Enterprise Investment | What the Organisation Gets | What Changes Financially |
|---|---|---|
| Train more Ambassadors | A bigger internal network of champions | Less need to pay external delivery each time |
| Volunteer-supported local delivery | More local ownership | More fundraising benefit can stay with the organisation |
| Family and PTA engagement | Stronger home-school or community links | PTA/school can retain most event income |
| Creative competitions and showcases | Wider participation and visibility | Community prize support reduces pressure on core budget |
| Optional donation back to TGBY | Flexibility and goodwill | No forced extraction model |
One-Page Summary Table
| Area | Cost / Split | Main Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Ambassador training – 1 place | £222 | Builds one internal champion |
| Ambassador training – 12 places | £2,400 | Builds a local team |
| Included Member package sessions | 25% of package value into shared Ambassador delivery pot | Supports low-fee regular delivery |
| Extra registered sessions | 55% TGBY / 25% Ambassador / 15% organisation / 5% admin | Clear earning and benefit structure |
| Ambassador Give-Back option | Keep all / Donate all / Split 50/50 | Flexibility for Ambassadors |
| Enterprise volunteer model | Mostly local retention, optional donation to TGBY | More money stays with the organisation |
The simplest organisation explanation
If you want regular included sessions, the package contains a shared Ambassador delivery pot. If you want extra fundraising or community sessions, the standard payback scheme applies. If you want to build a volunteer-led community model through Enterprise, you can train more Ambassadors so more of the benefit stays local and any donation back to The Great Big Yawn is optional.
